Custom Sea Life UV

Does anyone have any experience with the Double Helix brand of UV? If so, is it dependable? Which size do you recommend for a 90 gallon FOwLR?

I have an 18 watt unit on my 400 gallon. it is awesome. my clowns use to have parasites show up every month, and my softies use to sting the crap out of each other. Now, there are no troubles. i would choose the smallest unit for your tank
thanks

Thanks for the quick response. Where should I hang the unit and does it really need to hang? I have no more room on the back of my tank. What kind of pump do you think I should use? Should I go for the slowest rate possible?

i am researching uv's myself, not sure if i'm going to use one or not yet. once i began looking into it there is a lot more to it than you might think. from what i have found for your size tank the smallest unit would only do half of the job. a 9 watt would do fine in your size tank if you were just looking to control bacteria and algea spores, but, if you wanted to control parasites as well, ie. ick, you would need at least an 18w sterilizer. if you have a sump with any volume of water, say 20g or more, you might even want to go a little larger. another point you may want to look into is that the csl uv's are one of the only ones that do not use a quartz sleeve, but i haven't figured out yet if that is all that important or not just thought it was odd that they are the only ones not using one.
