point the power head towards the LR...that way it creates more random currents when it hits the LR rather than just a circulating current around the tank. make for a more natural flow IMO

Hard to say once you get your corals in place you'll need to play around with the flow until the corals are happy with extended polyps. Random flow is more desireable than straight flow. The pumps you have supply a dispersed flow which is good.

it took a lot of trial and error before settling on the position of my 2 maxijet 600 powerheads. they are positioned on both ends of my 20 gal tank. the one on the left is about 1 1/2in from the top of the water line and more towards the back and the one on the right about 2 in from the water line and towards the front of the tank. in short they are off center and i made sure i have enough space to fit my algae scraper between the sidewall and powerhead. they are mounted sideways and with the diffusers to widen the output. make sure you have good surface agitation and try to observe that you have flow in every rock hole especially at the bottom. you can do this when your feeding, try to follow a piece of food and see where it goes and how the current is making it react. i know you still have a lot of rocks to put but i hope this helps.

bouncing current off of the glass is a good way to diffuse it, although you have pumps that put out a wide flow pattern already. i would probably wait till you get corals in there and see how they react to different angles of the powerheads.
