From what I've seen lately, TRUE AOG are going for anywhere from 10-15/polyp, Blane Perun PPE are $40-50 polyp, nuclear green palythoa are running around $60-100 a piece, and the lunar eclipse I've seen are anywhere from $5-$15. You certainly have good taste, the Lunar Eclipse and Xmen are two of my favorites! As for the Armageddon 2, I'm not really sure of which strain is which at this point.

If you are buying rare zoas to propagate be sure to verify their lineage. If you are looking to stock your tank with beautiful colors, who really cares!!!!! I have some Brown and Green zoas that would probably fetch $20 for ten polyps on their best day, and they are one of my favorites! Its all about taste and how much you are willing to spend. People gravitate toward my eagle eyes and look right past my PPE.

I had a conversation with a guy not long ago... I would be interested in your input as you say both eclipse and xman are your favorites. They look very similar. How do you tell them apart and if you can post some photos.

Not all "True AoG" are true AoG.

Tai, they are the same. They came in through the wholesaler at the same time.

Devil's Armor is New Alameda's name for it, and Armageddon II is the Ultimate Frags name. One of the guys that worked for the wholesaler came by my house to trade. He saw the DA in my tank and said, "I just got those for Rommel."

Dave and Dustin, you are both correct in that they are the same critter. I have, however, seen Lunar Eclipse sold as a bigger diameter Palythoa and X men as more of a traditional zoa size. Could be a morph, could be a cousin.

Heya Tai,

You can get them to have that bright fluorescent neon look if you blast them with light. Those were up in a breeder basket under 250w mh.

That was our opinion as well, that and possible lighting condition changes. Good to know though!!

I definately wouldn't pay more than $50 per polyp... And really if you're willing to wait a few months or a year, the price will most likely come down... They grow too fast for the price to stay up as high as they are...
