Opinions on Solar T5 fixtures???

Hi, does anyone here have experience with the Solar T5 Fixtures. The kind sold by Catalina? I see them on ebay pretty cheap, but I want to know if anyone got them and is able to grow LPS and SPS with them, and how well. I know they're probably not the best fixtures, but I dont' have many $$$, so I'm fine if they work.

These are the ones I'm referring to.

As a caveat, these are for lighting a 30L tank with a DSB, BUT, I was hoping I might use the same fixture when I upgrade to a 90 gallon someday. Is this feasible. In the 90 gallon I would be keeping the high light stuff near the top. Opinions?

Thanks.

From what I can see they only have a single reflector. I think you would be better look for a used unit with individual reflectors here on reefcentral..

No, the catalina solar's are there newest line with individual reflectors like the nova extreme pro reflectors. For your 30 it will work fine for anything imo but the 90 its hard to say. maybe your sps would be ok up high and lps towards teh middle, softies on the bottom but thats a 24" tall tankmuch higher than the 30.

I did not see those had the individual reflectors, when I clicked the link it took me to one that obviously had a single reflector

They should be fine for the upper 1/3 of the 90g tank if you want to keep some SPS.

should be plenty fine on the 30g tank. i have a nove extreme pro over my 30g. they should be roughly the same. im not sure about any cooling on the catalina though. that could make a difference.
