interceptor and skimmers
so i dosed my first dose of interceptor last night. i did a 4x dose that is 2 whole pills in my 120 w/40 gal sump(closed loop also), and this morning i went to add my carbon, and put the aitline back in my skimmer, and when i plugged my airline back in, i am now not getting any foaming in my skimmer, i see that air is going in, but dont see any foaming action at all.... is this normal? i have a few friends hear that have treated and they said that they didnt do a waterchange just added carbon, and turned their skimmer back on... is this normal? will it correct itself? is there any thing i should do?

the interceptor might be stopping it from foaming up let the carbon take most of it out an then you might see it working again. Its just like when you feed or fish or put your hand in the tank/sump the oil's for your skin stop the skimmer from working. Just give it some time

try cleaning your skimmer. pump, cup, and base. just take the whole thing out and give it a good cleaning. i have treated with interceptor on three different occations and never did a water change right after and didnt have any problems. i just ran a bunch of carbon and skimmed wet for a couple days afterwards. the thing you gotta worry about is the death and breakdown of all the pods and some inverts that arent going to make it due to the treatment. you are gonna have a whole lotta little things die in there and the water change helps prevent a nutrient spike. its not totally necessary to do a water change it just helps prevent future complications. i never had a problem re-starting my skimmer after a treatment though. clean it out with some vinegar and rinse with some ro/di, that usually works. hope you get that figured out.
