High Mg consumption

My friend has nano nano aqurium and reports, thay consuptions is

30 ppm Mg per day and
10 ppm Ca per day

How is this possible ?

He dose Mg once every 4 days ,ana 12 h after dossing Mg is 1380 ppm and after 4 days only 1260 ppm. He use Salifert Mg test.

I don't believe it. How was it measured? Over how long a period of time?

I'd measure a few times on one day, then dose no magnesium for two weeks, and see what it is at the end of that time.

How does he supplement calcium and alkalinity?
Any water changes taking place?

I think those changes are close to the general resolution and accuracy limits of Mg test kits, so I wouldn't worry yet. Some long-term measurements would be good to do, though.
