Metals?
I bought an aluminum rod for something that is going IN my tank, is this okay?
I know the metal , copper is bad for reef tanks.

Agree, do not use it. What did you want it for? Use an acrylic rod instead if you can.

Okay, ill try to find acrylic rods, Im using an aluminum bar for putting my lights on outside the tank, although it's pretty close to the water. Can I put anything on it so it doesn't rust?

You may be able to, but you also won't know if it goes bad until it's too late. I purchased acrylic rods off ebay.

I got acrylic rods, but for the aluminum piece that is outside my tank is a perfect piece for my light to sit on. Do you think it will rust still if i put acrylic that i cut out to block it from the little drops of water that pop up sometimes from the surface? Or could i use like some sort of liquid?
