Wow Jeremy,
He must be p ****sed off at something in the tank. Or just hungry. My mother echino does not do that at night. If it did I'd be in trouble, since I crowd it.

Really Randy it does that every night!!!!
i wonder if it comes from being a 3rd or 4th gen frag!, the "pink" does this as well, although its sweepers arent as long, but the frag isnt nearly as big.
take a pic at night when the sweeper are out on youre colony for me so i can compare

And this is what happens when you don't respect the reach of the sweepers. The Ricordia never had a chance.

Paige,
I've had the same thing happen with ricordea. The echinophyllia just dissolved them.
BTW, is that Pink from me? It's hard to keep track these days.

Randy the pink Echino colony is actually about 7" in diameter. I have a 2" frag I bought from you but I didn't photgraph it since its just a smaller version of the larger colony.

In my experience, I wouldn't recommend sending out a fresh cut frag. Too risky. A couple weeks is worth the wait.

You don't have an alien eye??? I thought you did...I have three right now that are up for trade but I need to wait till they get a tad bigger. If you want, I can save a frag for you.
