I'm just guessing here, but even though it won't actually glue it, you will probably get the best seal between the two using silicone.

If you're trying to put a pipe in the side or even bottom of the bucket get a UniSeal. I doubt you'll be able to glue them or use silicone reliably.

Yeah silicone will work for a little while but because of the oils in the plastic it will eventually fail. I'd go with a uniseal as well, it's only a couple bucks from aquaticeco.

I don't know if there are any good glues to glue to the bucket. I would guess that some type of epoxy might work, but I don't know how well it will hold to the bucket.
But what exactly are you trying to do? If it is put a pvc pipe into the side of the bucket, use a bulkhead or uniseal that is exactly what they were designed to do. Kim

Guess I'm not following here...
The lid on the IO bucket has an O ring and is pretty water tight to begin with... It may not hold a lot of pressure if that's what you want to do.

Maybe this will help. I don't know the difference between PETG and polyethylene.

THERE ARE NO GLUES OR CEMENT FOR POLYETHYLENE. THAT IS WHY YOU SEE SO MANY GAS CANS AND THINGS OF THAT NATURE MADE OUT OF IT. IT DOES NOT REACT TO SOLVENTS. THERE IS A SOLVENT GLUE FOR PETG. YOU CAN EVEN WELD PETG. WE DO THAT ALL THE TIME. KEITH
