small tubes growing on maxima clam shell
We just noticed these things after having the clams for several days. What are they/are they harmful? Sorry for the blurred shot, but they won't show up with a flash, so it was hand held w/o flash...also, the site won't post the photo on this post for some reason ( it says invalid file type ) so it must be viewed in my gallery.

They are snails, pretty harmless but they do release a slime trail into the water from time to time. I am drawing a blank for thier name though.

Man I am drawing a blank as for thier name, I know they are in a post here somewhere but I can't find it. I don't think they are borers. IMO I would remove them since they do send up some slime and it looks bad. I had some on an favia that I have.
