tear drop corcrea losing it spots
My 5 inch crocrea had beautifull coloring and now since I moved it to a 13 inch 40 gallon tank with a 250 watt metal halide pendent it has lost all of its spots. It teh purple blue color is the same just no spots. My calcium has been fluctuating a little but it has gone no lower than 380 and I got under control around 420. Alk is at 8.7 and magnesium is at 1260. Nitrates and Nitrites all 0. Is it because of the new lighting. I have been feeding it phytoplankton once a week. My other crocrea has lost some color but not nearly as much. It has changed from blue spots to green. What is going on? Oh also my clown is hosting in the teardrop.

what lighting were they under??
did you acclimate them to the new lights?? the different appearance ( was blue now green ) could just simply be the different lighting. can you post a pic, from before and now????

Well they were at the top of my old tank with 2x 175 watt 10k reeflux bulbs with 2 x 54 t-5 acintics in a basket. really close to the light. Now I have a 250 watt pendent hanging about 2 feet above the water and the clams are at the bottom. The tank is 13 inces .There is no sand it is a bare bottomn tank. The new kelvin is 10K for the aqua medic bulb.
Sorry I can post a pick now but not before. Also all my sps are doing great. So I would be suprised if it was a nutrient thing. |
