Shipping Algae/plants?

I'm wanting to send some plants to a fellow reefer, and I was intrested in how the best way to package them would be?Would they need a heat packett of some kind? When you get an order, how was it packaged, and did it survive?

Plants ship well just packed damp in a sealed bag and insulated box. Heat/cold packs depend on time of year and expected temps along the route to the final destination. If freezing temps are expected anywhere along the way, a heat pack is in order. If it's going to be hot and sunny, than cold packs.

Ship them over night if possible.

Cold is better than warm.
