freshwater dip cheatos?

Hi

I have some cheatos from LFS and was wondering can I fresh dip it to get rid of ich in case it might it on the stems or something.

Or should I go to the 6 to 8 weeks QT before introducing it to my main tank?

I would think it is ok. I know Cheato is ok in hypo as I have done this before however QT period would be the only almost 100 percent way to prevent ich.
