high nitrates

just bought an tetra nitrate test kit and the results came to an eye popping. the levels are between 50 mg to 100 mg. but everything is still alive and well. any advice what should i do?

That level of nitrate won't harm fish or soft corals. Nitrate tests often seem to be inaccurate, for that matter. This article covers nitrate in detail:

The more popular ideas are bettering skimming or growing and harvesting a macroalga.

In addition I will suggest getting a good test kit. LaMotte Nitrate is the one I found easier to use and one of the best. Salifert also seems to be a popular one for Nitrate.
