Colors are finally coming back!! Better than before....go figure! (pic intensive)

Tank transfers. I hate them.....
stressing out SPS makes them turn BROWN..... ALL BROWN!

Downgraded rocks from about 100+ lbs to about roughly 50-60 lbs (estimated).
Tank went from 75 to 92 gallons, but much longer and deeper.....same
equipment, same lighting on different reflectors.

Still, they all turned BROWN! ALL BROWN!

That was the beginning, 3 1/2 weeks ago.......

This is now and almost there........ ENJOY!

Thanks! I'm so much happier with the wider tank, makes it much much easier for aquascaping

No color manipulation either- check out the white epoxy with my fingerprints on it, LOL

I LOVE IT!

I picked op a frag several years ago and haven't been able to come up with a name.

Brett, the colors are still somewhat off, but that used to be an acropora valida (purple tip nana)- Here is a topdown shot when it was in it's full glory:

still patiently waiting for it to come back

Thanks! the color stumped me too.... that used to be a teal color all the way back behind another coral, so I sold all the frags I had. Talk about a diamond in the rough...... I'm glad I got a piece back.

I'm using 250W 10K XM's w/ Icecaps (in Lumenarc minis) with 220W VHO's.

My friend has the same lights as well, but he has a 125 with a heavier bioload than mine.

I have sand- it's photoshopped out or invisible, go figure LOL.

Tried the sand route- can't do it. I'm a VERY lazy reef keeper, with water changes every 2 months or so, LOL

Be happy they only turned brown. I did a tank transfer and 12 of my colonies turned a nice bright white.

The added bioload makes a HUGE difference. If your colors are washed out, its time to add some fish. People say it time and time again, I didnt buy it until I tried it. My colors are richer than ever now that I added a few anthias to my tank.

they are back, even better now than before. I think the larger water volume and less rock helped. I did up the livestock and feed heavily now though, and skim heavy. Sorry, no updated pics, I had a few things I needed to take care of on a personal level. Maybe in another month, I'll have a lot more pics when the dust has settled

I use a Nikon D200 and a 60mm macro lens for the closeups.

Hi Concept 3,

I have a Deltec AP600, and am BB too. How much flow do you have in your tank - turnover? And what are your tank dimensions?

How are you finding your Deltec? Nice corals btw.

Thanks
