Distilled water = RO/DI

Just a quick question as I'm not 100% sure. I know distilled water is 100% pure H2O, but does a properly working RO/DI filter produce the same? And are there any minerals left in RO/DI water?

The reason I ask is because I use RO/DI water in my reef but I also use distilled water for another completely different hobby. So I'm wondering if RO/DI and distilled are equally absent of anything other than pure H2O?

Dave A,

both properly run will give pure H2O, how can you test that, simple using a TDS meter,

RO takes it very low 5-15 and the DI can take out the rest, giving you pure water,

Not even close

I soak ancient roman coins in distilled water to absorb the minerals that encrust the coins.......natures cleaning solvent. I was wondering to myself if my RO/DI water would do the same.

Thanks,
Dave
