Avatar STILL too big?

I've been trying to add a custom avatar but it keeps telling me its too big.

Um...

It is 74x110 pixels and 7.95K which is 7950 bytes.

Am I missing something here?

This is the image I'm wanting to use. I even changed it from a .jpg to a .gif thinking the file size would mysteriously change to no avail.

well when I right click on your picture and look at the properties you over your bytes i see 9226 bytes wich is over the limit.

Really?? Photoshop says just under 8000...hmmm.
