Hey there, the other controller is different in two major ways - it communicates with the other Vortechs, and it gives you different wave options. This one has a dial that turns it up or down, thats it. For the 160XL, I'd recommend using these at 100% only. They don't work very well to create different waves unless you have a minimum of four, all with WWD. But its a great way to create some nice, wide flow. My 160XL has netted out to 2x6201, 2x6101, 1xVortech. I plan on buying the Vortech battery backup for mine also. I took down the Wavebox.

If you ever want to make this a WWD, just buy the controller for $75. This is brand new, your controller will be brand new. So it'd be $375 for brand new setup which is $420 so you'd save a few bucks. But for your setup I'd run it at 100% anyway.
