possible new tank and stand.. opinions?
i was contacted with this info... opinions?
I've decided to rid myself of my aquarium, comes with filter, tank heater, oxygenator, gravel, extra filters, some chemicals, cleaning brush and lots of other stuff. I can't imagine how much money I have in this tank, but I don't have the passion for it that I once did. The cabinet is brown wood, could use another coat of stain, but pretty decent looking. I have a few fish still in the tank and they come with it. Any questions or interested in pics please email. I'm asking 175 for it, which is pretty darn reasonable when you consider how much all the little extras add up too, I will entertain interesting trade offers though. http://s240.photobucket.com/albums/f...t=P1010079.jpg http://s240.photobucket.com/albums/f...t=P1010078.jpg http://s240.photobucket.com/albums/f...t=P1010077.jpg |

The price seems pretty good since you're getting the tank and stand for that price, but, how big is the tank?
Any idea what you intend on putting in the tank? You could possibly be looking at spending more $$ in accessories where somene else may be selling something that may be more compatible to what you need.

Being a freshwater tank, I would find out if has ever treated it with copper.

I would refinish that stand prior to setting it up as a saltwater tank. It looks pretty rough. Refinishing it might help it sell. I think $175 is an ok price if the silicone looks good.

If you plan on keeping a reef at any time, I wouldn't recommend purchasing a freshwater tank. I'd purchase a used reef setup so that you know that copper was never used.
If you only want fish and no corals or live rock, that tank and stand would work. However, I'd recommend live rock and live sand as filtration for a fish only tank. Joyce |
