If you're planning on getting any sand sifters I'd place the rock on the glass or a pvc/eggcrate platform and then place the sand around it. You can just move the sand to the side since it is already in there. I would also get some more rock as Kevin suggested.

Get some branching rocks like tonga branch as they look nice and more space for your fish to swim.

IMO branching rocks like tonga look out of place in small tanks. I like the shelf thing you got going. It looks sleek but one issue you might have is getting sufficient flow under the caves and overhangs and stuff.

its a nice start kinda like my first 10 gallon i had 3 one ponders haha then i got like 16 pounds more. i would also recoment a few more pounds of rock you can also drill small hole in the rock and using acrylic rod you can make caves and over hangs and neat stuff like that. but it looks good for a start! good luck with it.

Great start Martin. Other than a bit more live rock I'd say it looks good.

I would tend to agree that you will eventually need more rock in that tank but I personally would like to see more open space below those rocks. You should be able to tweak what you have and make it more flow friendly.

a good alternative to getting more rock is base rock you can probably find it at your lfs that ussualy goes for 1-2 bucks a pound and its alot lighter then live rock cause it dosent have all the water in it.
