Brain slime!

Today I removed a piece of lr to accomidate the new open brain that I got and when I started moving the brain he released slimy strings that are now all over my lr? Should I be worried about the other inhabitants? He seems healthy he is like twice the size that he was at the lfs and all of his tenticles are out! They never fed him but I did last night and he loved mysis shrimp! He is huge like 8-9 inches across! Any info would be great! thanks
