Just for future reference for everyone, I just bought a bunch of snack size zipplock baggies, yeah they're not water tight. I have some el-cheapo bags that are more water tight. But the small ones aren't no matter what brand you go with it seems. It's a VERY slow leak, but in about two days I could see the water draining out.

my LFS's dont' have small bags. If I were to get the bags from the lfs I wouldn't be able to put as much water in them because there would be al that extra bag material in the thermos.

Does anyone insure the zoos when shipping? Just wondering if anyone has done that before or not.

Thanks Stix, wasn't really planning on doing that, but wanted to see if anyone had done it before.

The frag I sent you doesn't open real fast if it gets ****ed. Those zoos are moody sometimes.

Well, now I really need some advice and/or help I have just discovered that the tank holding my nicest zoos and the frags for my partners is infested with zoanthid eating nudibranchs. I have no idea how they got in there because I do a FW dip on all new specimens but they're in that tank in force. I've done FW dips on all removable frags and managed to find 2 nudis in the process as well as a lot of nudi eggs Is it still safe for me to trade with my partners or will I endanger spreading these nudis if I trade frags. Any input would be greatly appreciated. I am very upset about this as well as sad for my partners. I have a couple of zoos in my other tank that I can send but they aren't the nice ones that I had taken frags of for my partners Here is a picture of one of the offensive creatures:

That totally stinks...FW dips work wonders...but don't always take care of their eggs!

I'm sorry for the picture size but I didn't know how to resize it. I put this one in a cup for ID purposes and the lighting was pretty bad and makes it look more orange than it is. It is actually a tan colored nudi and the other one I found in the tank had "fringe" that was orange and green, evidence of its last meal

Yes, thats what I believe happened You see I didn't know that I needed to manually remove their eggs until I found out today so my belief is that the eggs found their way in my tank, hatched and spread these little devils around

Any advice on how I should proceed for the trade. I've received a frag from one of my partners already and I had promised everyone nice frags so I really hate to dissapoint them.

You can inspect and remove with a simple magnified glass and a pair a very fine tweezers...I wouldn't worry!

If you think that will work then I'll do that for sure! I just want to make sure that my partners know to also do a FW dip when it reaches their end as well as inspect for any eggs I might have missed.

If your partners don't do a FW dip with every frag they receive whether it be from you or anyone...they are in the wrong hobby! You should have no problem seeing the eggs with a magnified glass!

I already shipped out to all 3 of my partners, and as far as I know they all received them fine. I have received from 1 of my partners, and am expecting the other 2 this week. Everything from the first partner arrived healthy and opened up.

Here is the stuff I got from AJ -

AJ I'm shipping yours out tomorrow morning.

and the greens in this one

everything looks good

They opened a little bit right away and were totally open the next morning. I FW dip every zoo that goes into my tank (did the same with these). I strongly suggest you do even if you trust your partners (for whatever reason). Zoos tend to develop a fungus when they are low flow (ie a thermos for 2 days). It doesn't really spread to other zoos quickly but will spell doom for the infected piece. You doubt me????

well look at this!

and the toothbrush I cleaned it off with!

I had to use hydrogen peroxide to get this crap off - but from then on I always FW dip....

atinic lights only for a day and higher flow should help them open faster
