needing skimmer advice

The Berlin XL I have on my 210g fowlr is a piece of crap. I have NEVER been able to get it to skim right and I am done with it ! I am on a budget so the high $$$ skimmers aren't an option. I was looking on Drs. F & S and saw the Fission skimmers by Current USA. The price is great but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these? Also, is there another option out there for a less expensive but good working skimmer? Thanks !

I had one of the larger models and it's a waste of materials. The pump was loud, ran hot, and didn't pull much air at all. The skimmer is poorly designed and has a serious bubble return problem that they try to fix by sending a sock to put on the outlet. Seriously, skip the fission skimmer. I still have it in my skimmer graveyard and I wouldn't send it to you for free, it's that bad. The PS-CVOCT-NW-200 is a good skimmer that won't break the bank. customaquatic.com carries them and has them in stock right now.

Look for a used skimmer. You should be able to find a good deal between rc and ebay

You're welcome. I can't believe Current is selling that thing. They have decent lighting products but the Fission line is really a blemish on their name IMO.
