I wounldn't wasted your money on it. Thats just my opinion. I bought one before and took it back within a day. Save your money and get something better like an Aqua C Remora or Turboflotor. Find a local reef club in your area. I'm sure there are always people selling off their stuff.

Choosing a skimmer depends entirely on bioload and quality of foam fractination.

Yes, so If you want to keep a 15 gallon tank with 2 fish and no coral, a SeaClone 150 is fine. My answer... The SeaClone isnt really that great.. EVeryone who has bought it, and then upgraded, has Loved thier new ones.... For a 125 you might look into a euro or one of the biger CPR's.... I know its expenisve but it is money WELL spent. Please dont make this misteak... some will tell you they like there seaclones, but they all have small tanks nad have never tried a better skimmer....

If your planning on using it on a tank any larger than 40 gallons, then I would suggest that you pass, if on the other hand you want to use it on a 40 gallon of less, then by all means feel free to purchase it, but be prepared to do the mods to it (search the board for the seaclone mods). I use it on my 20L tank with a 20H tank for my sump and sit it in the water of the sump and my only complaint on the seaclone 100 now is that I have to empty the collection cup too often Now that it's been modded and sitting inside of the sump it produces about 1/2 the collection cup a day of dark smelly skimmate, so it needs to be emptied every day, or two at the most.
But again if this is for your 125 gallon tank, then I would pass on it and get something more efficient. |
