Fading colors on peacock
Hello, all. My peacock just molted successfully again, and got really drab this time. Her diet is varied (frozen shrimp, scallop, squid, silversides, krill; the occasional live snail/crab).
Anything to worry about? Is it possible that I am underfeeding her? Thanks! Dan |

Maybe lack of caratenoids in the diet? I remember Dr. Roy saying something about that in response to a question Ms. K asked....

Water params are fine. Lots of water changes.
Caratenoids, huh? Hmm, the only thing I can think of that would be a reasonable supply of that would be krill. Can try. I doubt Thumper would take carrots dipped in Selcon Dan |

Mine was really quite orange, almost gold, for about a week after her molt, but she has returned to her original olive color since then.
