CCP's 2000 gallon Deltec reef tank

Now that the tank has finally entered production at Deltec in Germany I wanted to start a thread to show/document the progress of the project.

The tank will be 15foot x 5.5 foot x 35.4 inches. | 500cm x 170cm x 0.90cm and will be viewable from all sides.

There will be a remote fish room for all equipment and sumps.

Here is a list of some of the basic equipment:

Skimmer -> Deltec AP 1006
Calcium Reactor -> Deltec PF 1001
Kalkwasser stirrer -> Deltec KM 500S
Flow -> 4x Turbelle streams 6100, 2x ~3000gph closed loops, 6500gph return.
Lighting -> 8x400W Mh with Lumenarcs reflectors, 10x 80W T5

Thats it for now. I will be updating frequently

Have you figured out how much it will cost to fund this project?

Zoos> I have a pretty decent idea on how much it will cost

reefkoi> CCP is a company that creates mmorpg's www.ccpgames.com & eve-online.com

I'm going to take some pictures of the current status of the area the aquarium is going to be sitting at later to day and post them here.

I just snapped a couple of photos of the place where the aquarium will be sitting. They are currently building the recreational room which will house the aquarium. I'm hoping it will be finished around the same time as the aquarium arrives from Germany which is about 4 weeks from now.

Aquarium goes here

Aquarium will be in here

-------

Also... last week I ordered the lighting equipment from CoralVue and I heard it needed a pallet for shipping so its going to be a lot of boxes

I'm currently trying to buy a controller. I was thinking about buying the BioTopus II from Elos. I'm not sure about that anymore since they are trying to force me to order it from Norway and that adds more than 500$ to the total amount rather than getting it directly from Italy. Any suggestions on other controllers ? Need to be able to get all the common measurements and have them logged so I can display them live on the website which I will build around this project.

yenom: I hope that they will deliver on time which should be in about 4 weeks. Then we need to ship the tank over here and that will probably take around 2 weeks.

I'm using the waiting time to order other equipment and plan the fishroom. I'm building a 500 liter grow out/ refugium tank next week.

The stand is being built out of steel and hopefully that should be ready in few weeks time. I will take pictures of that build and post them here

You stole the words out of my mouth... This will probably be one of the most interesting threads to follow (if not THE most interesting), but it would not be the same without the massive skimmer that probably no one even have seen pictures of. Well, except the one on deltec´s website...

The aquariums Deltec build is very nice indeed, probably some of the best in the world, but the price on that thing? I guess only the tank and the skimmer would cost almost as much as my whole system

Ps. one of my friends is from Iceland, and his name is also Arnar.

Not so much to update for now but next week I am setting up 130 gallon tank for the fish and corals from the old tank. The old tank is a 500 gallon tank that is sitting in the old offices but we moved from there last year and the owner wants the tank out so I have to put the fishes and corals somewhere while we wait for the big tank
The 130 gallon tank will be sitting in the CEO office for now and when we get the big tank I will use it for a refugium. I'll take pictures and post them here

Other stuff... Deltec agreed to photograph the building of the aquarium so I'll post those as well when I get them. Think it will be fun to have those for the collection.

Also next week I plan to complete an order for a controller and some controllable webcams. I plan on having a few cameras so you people can view the tank inside out and even pan and zoom. Any specialists out there that want to suggest cameras for the job?
