Coral for Sale - several SPS, LPS, & a Zoanthid

I did a year end tank clean-up, moved a few things around, and have a few corals that I need to move out. I'm in the northeast side of Pensacola or can meet you at a store in Pensacola if you'd like. Here is what I have to offer:

Sm. Purple Montipora Digitata Frag, $10

Lg. Purple Montipora Digitata, $30, ~3.5 in. x 2.5 in. (hasn't been cut from the main colony yet, the pink line at the bottom is where it will be cut)

Bright Blue Acro Stag Frag, $20, ~2 inches

TriColor Acro Frag, $15, ~1 1/2 inches, purple tips with green polyps

Purple Acro Prostrata (similar to millepora, with light blue polyps), $25, ~3 in. x 3 in.

Bright Green Caulastrea, $20, ~10 heads

Bright Green Caulastrea, $25, ~14 heads

Blue Kiss Zoas, $30, 25-30 polyps

Very small orange monti digitata and green monti confusa frags, $5 each

Let me know if you have any interest or questions.

Thanks,
Brad

I'm interested in the TriColor Acro Frag but I'm not so sure if I could keep it in my current 29 gallon. It has a 70W metal halide, and one 295gph powerhead in it at the moment. I don't want to kill a coral.. Would it survive in my tank or would it be best if I waited untill I got some actinics and another powerhead or two?

Actinic light isn't really needed for growing coral...its mainly for us to enjoy the colors and make the coral colors 'pop'.

Do you dose calcium or do you have a calcium reactor? Obviously these are things your going to need to maintain an Acropora or any SPS for that matter. Pick one or the other....if you have a calcium reactor a lot of people still dose Kalk in order to keep their Alkalinity in check. But a dosing would be the easy route.

I think from a lighting standpoint, you would be okay by placing the frag in the upper half of the tank. I've had the frag on the sandbed of my 24" high 65g tank and it's been fine under T5 lights.

You don't need a calcium reactor by any means, but you would want to test and maintain proper calcium and alkalinity levels. The easiest way to start is by dosing a two-part liquid solution, but be sure and test as you go.

If this is going to be your first SPS coral, I'd recommend trying a montipora either digi. or cap. The purple digitata was one of my first SPS and by far the fastest growing one for me. They are among the hardier SPS species.

I rephrased my post...I didn't mean to make it seem like you had to have both of them...or one or the other. My bad

Good luck with the sales yeldarbj!

Thank you very much for the quick replies! I guess I can try out the montipora frags you got. What brand do you guys suggest for the calcium dosing? Let me know when a good time is for you, I live in Pace.

Quick Update:

Zoas, orange digi, green confusa - sale pending...

Mantis - I use Seachem Reef Advantage Calcium, Seachem Magnesium, and Seachem Reef Builder. They are all powders and mix with RODI for dosing. I dose Ca & Mg one day and Reef Builder the next.

I'll send you a PM regarding meeting.

Brad, take a look at Randy's two part in the Reef Chemistry forum. It's a good way to go.

Dr Hank, thanks for the suggestion. I've read through it. I only have a 65g tank I don't want to buy massive quantities and have to store stuff. I'm only using 3T of each part per week. A 1 kg bottle of powder lasts me a long time.

Brad.. Nice stuff. I wish I was at a point where I could add some stuff but I can't. Maybe you will have a few things in a few months and I'll be in a position that I know I won't have to break down my tank.

Brad,

It was nice meeting you and the kids. I wanted to thank you for the frags and the time you spent sharing information with me. Beautiful children, home and tank...I'd say you're a blessed man!

Thanks Again,
