And from above, same clam.

And this shot is older, but one of my favorites. Same clam a few months ago.

It seems okay, however when it has to close it seems to have struggle. I'd prefer it stay open anyway.

If it becomes a big problem, the zoas will be stripped away.

My favorite Maxima

Here's my favorite clam - and yes, it really is that color. It also has a green rim around the outside that did not photo well. It is currently about 6". As I am not bright enough to actually post the picture here - if you simply click on the gallery icon it will come up - thx for letting me share.

Here you go. Just take the URL (listed at the base of the picture in your gallery) and sandwich it between IMG tags [ img ] & [ /img]

I'm picky too. I saw a really neat looking crocea on clamsdirect. It still is not the perfect color for me though. I've seen some really neat ones. Esp when you first log onto the website. I love the bright purple clam and the teal w/gold speckles. I'm looking for something special like that. =) Or like any of yours.

If you're asking about mine, lighting is 2x250 XM 10K's on a PFO HQI.

Forgot to mention that the photo was shot with flash. That accounts for some of the shot being a bit washed out. I can try to get another one without the flash later this week, if it'll make a difference for you.

New top down picture from last night of the same boring clam. Some sand is on it, as I was working in the tank.

Hey Marc,
Did you remove some zoanthids? =) I like the way it looks. It's beautiful. Are those aiptasia in between the zoanthids? I have 1 by a Zoa colony of mine. I don't think mine like it. I can't kill it though. =( I feel bad for it.

No, I didn't remove any. It is just a current picture, taken from the front of the tank instead of from the rear.

Yes, I have tons of aiptasia. Tomorrow I'm going to feed them something delicious and deadly.

You can come get mine if you want. =) I feel bad for them. =( I know. I'm a wuss. Do they bother any of your corals? Mine is getting close to a micro. I guess when he gets closer, I might have to put some epoxy over him. =( I don't want to nuke my tank.

Tank is a 72 bowfront, lamps are about 6" off the waterline. So figure 22" + 6" = 28" for distance from clam to lamp. Why the interest?
