This is something! I kept coming back to the last few complete dinning/bar/tank shots and could not get enough.

Time to add your DIY designer drapery by the windows for the finishing touch

Really nice, I see you do most of your excellent work late at night... or is that early in the morning.
Please keep us posted. More closeups of the equip room would be great.
THanks for sharing.

drummereef here's some gear shots for your viewing displeasure. Tough to get the shot, but the water is coming into the sump and flowing up to the surface using a 90 degree elbow. There is a powerhead keeping the water going around anti-clockwise so the flow goes directly to the skimmer first.

The skimmer is a modified Euro 8-3. I added another sedra some years ago. For now I don't think its worth paying $1,000 or more for a larger one as this thing produces plenty of skimmate. But we'll see. Maybe I'll ad another smaller one to use for ozone dosing.

This is my janky powerstrip holder. I have the xtra cords stuffed behing the board and thread the plugs thru the holes so when I unplug things they just hang there and don't drop to the floor or into the sump.

About half the rubbermaid sump is covered with the shelf where I keep various gear. The calcium reactor and the phospate/carbon reactor are both from MRC. The reactor in particular has been great and has worked flawlessly for years. Much easier than the korallin it replaced.

Love the way you have hidden the ugly Tunze. Do you have anymore pictures of this? as I would love to pinch your idea, how have you found the flow with it coming from just one end?
Also are they mounted using magnets?

Keep them coming Danny

dannyw, yeah i pinched the idea from others on RC. Just a 4"Wx5"D box on each side of the external overflow. Could be done internally just as easily. The pumps are mounted by pressing their nozzles into the hole drilled into the tank and then using an extra piece of soft pvc/spa flex tube to wedge between the back of the pump and the glass. Hard to take pics with it all set up but I can try

The flow rate is more than enough with the pumps on one side, but what's a challenge is getting turbulance as the pumps obviously aren't pointing toward each other.

Thanks for the feedback. Could you please confirm what size holes you use for the tunze to fit through?

Cheers Danny

Love it. Great job. I would have never thought about incorporating a tank like that.

Hey Kelly,
Awesome looking tank. I cant believe im just now finding out about the thread. Unfortunately i never fixed your 120 and ended up getting rid of it and havent gotten a new tank since. Hopefully my next one will look as good as yours.

kelhuffman - What bulb/ballast combination are you currently running on the tank?

How do you raise and lower the light above your tank?

One more question - How do you like the coverage of the Lumen Max 3 reflectors compared to the Reef Optix III?

The gear is plugged in to a wall socket and a couple of extension cords that run from the wall socket that inside the stand area up the right side cabinetry that the tank now covers. the inside of that area has all the ballasts and tunze transformers, aqua III, multicontroller etc.

I hoist the lights up and down with a bike hoist. the 4 adjustable steel cables are still attached but I don't use those anymore other than as the lowest setting when using the bike pulley.

the lumenmax III's do have a much wider spread without the obvious hot spot of the optix III's. I like them.

Cool. I'm thinking about getting 3 of the Lumen Max III's with Phoenix 14k bulbs over a 180 I'm starting. Can't wait!

good call if you're into DE's. three optix iiis' would work but they do really show shade areas between them.
