Great thread Greg,

With a lot of great documentation and ideas, this gets my brain whirring. I was going to drill my glass tank, but like you, I hate permanent solutions like that so I'm going to use the hook approach for the pump return. I even got the dremel drill bits and everything. You have convinced me to do otherwise.

Peace,
John H.

Greg,

Someone might've asked this question, but what camera and lens do you use to take these amazing pictures?

Peace,
John H.

Greg great pics.

Your corals are looking great. It looks like you have nice coraline on the starboard.

Looking at that page with the camera info, I looked at the starbord picture. I have some questions
Is the starbord still curling at the corners, or have you fixed it?
What actually caused the corners to come up? You say you cut it too tight and you shuld have left it 3/4" short. How would this have stopped it?
Now that the starbord is getting covered in corraline, have you noticed the tank being not as bright?

Fantastic pics, btw.

Great questions Derek - not sure how leaving it 3/4" short would have prevented it from curling up either??

It isn't getting any worse.

The board is "wedged" in place. If it gets knocked out of position by a water current the corner will pop out of place and start to lift. If I shove it back down with a PVC pipe every few weeks it's fine. If I had cut it with more slack it wouldn't do this. I'm not sure how to explain it exactly.

No, it's as bright as ever.

It's an extreme closeup of this coral:

It's a birdsnest, believe it or not.

could we see a macro shot of the whole tank just to see how the room divider tank is looking now - I realize you lose a lot of the beauty with such a large shot, but it would help appreciate the overall view. thanks.

Does the starboard absorb water which would cause it to swell?
I would be leary of jamming it into the corners of a glass tank. Thats REALLY putting outward pressure on your silicone.....
SWEET pics!

I am SOOOO gonna need a frag of that in a few months!!!
Do have any plans to eventually frag off some of your corals? Cause that pocillipora is gorgeous as well.....
Just wishfully thinking,
Nick

I've got some full tank shots coming up, but they are with the room in the dark so it may not be what you are looking for.

No. Starboard will not absorb water. It didn't fit properly from day one. It has not gotten any worse.
