Prestone driveway heat?

I have a 380gal sps dominated tank with a lifereef LCR2 cal reactor. I dose kalk the same way you do with my 44gal rubermaid trash can (1tsp per gal). My tank evaporates about four gals a day. My alk reads 10.2 , calc 360ppm , ph 8.1and mag 1270. I can't seem to keep up with my calcium demand. Should I add more kalk or should I dose prestone driveway heat? If I add more kalk won't it raise my alk ? And if I add cal chloride to raise the calcium how do I do that, do I just add it diluted in water by itself? I'm just alittle confused when I use the reef chemicals calculator!! Thanks Bobby

measure out a dose of the calcium chloride according to the reef calculator... dissolve it in freshwater and add it in your tank... if you're trying to raise just the calcium, you can not use a balanced additive like kalkwasser because it will raise both calcium and alkalinity...

I would use the Prestone Driveway Heat to make a one time boost to 420-450 ppm calcium and then see what happens to it over time, maintaining the alkalinity with the reactor.

I'd also boost the magnesium to 1250-1350 ppm, but it cannot be the cause of your low calcium.

These may help:
