Anybody try these pellets
I was looking at pellets online and there was this certain pellet that sparked my interest, soft krill pellets made by HBH, has anybody had any experience with these, my purposes would be to vary my maroon pairs diet with easily digestible high quality pellet foods as well as frozen foods to keep the weight on them and encourage breeding.
I also saw this koi food that boasted 42% protein (min). I guess the question that comes to mind is, should I be using the guaranteed analysis to judge the quality of food? I assume that a good food for my purposes would be high protein and high fat, right? Please help me shop for quality dry foods. thanks Chris PS-I already have ORA glo and spectrum pellets on the advice of some others PSS-Would more frozen to dry food be better, as opposed to the opposite when feeding? I have always thought that frozen is far superior to dry foods, but donot have any reasoning behind it other than thats what I think.

I have had success with Hikari Marine S dry pellet food.
They also make a Marine A which is for bigger fish. I think a variety is always good, I feed Cyclopeze, Mysis, and Spirulina enriched Brine as well as the Marine S. Feeding different foods to you fish is good for several reasons. They get a variety of nutrients, being the number one reason. J

I don't know about the HBH soft Krill pellets, but I use the HBH soft sinking spirulina pellets and they're two thumbs up
 If you're trying to get maroons in spawning condition I'd hit 'em heavy with all these foods- and especially go heavy on the HUFA enriched mysids. Beware the cyano that usually accompanies heavy feedings

Gary,
Do you know or recommend any brands who enrich with HUFA? Also, anyone know the diffenece between Mysis and Mysids shrimp. Are they just 2 different spellings for the same thing, or are they different fauna all together? J

Prepared Mysis and Mysids are all very similar, but there are some differences (and different species) offered. Some brands/types are more oily than others. There's size differences, too. I've used the Sally's, San Francisco, and Piscene Energetics brands among others. For something like Maroon Clowns I would steer towards the larger types of mysid shrimps.
