LFS RO DI ect ect ect !

I wish we would not abreviate here and take time to type out all the words. Most here are very good typist except me and it would able us like me to understand what the heck most are talking about here. Yes I know about list I can go to to look up words but you have any idea how long this takes ? I'm not going to do it so most posts can't make heads or tails of it . Like diesel price not much will change on my account. I will admit I do use LFS and RO/DI .

They're abbreviated because they're used frequently. It doesn't take long to become familiar with most of the common acronyms and once you've read it once or twice, it's hard to forget. Typing AFAIK instead of "As far as a I know", IMHO instead of "In my humble opinion" or FOWLR instead of "Fish only with live rock" not only saves time, but also reduces hand/wrist strain for people who type frequently.

Sorry to hear you're having such problems. IME, learning the abbrevs doesn't take that much time. IOW, over time u will get them str8 and know exactly what SPS, LPS, and whatever CUC we are talking about when you go to your LFS. U will have figured out whether to go BB, SSB, or DSB in ur tank and how much LR to obtain, which btw, is very important. So, hang in there, it's not that hard IMO, and soon your FOWLR or reef will be TOTM. All of this is, of course, IMO and IME....YMMV. TTFN

You can always ask what an abbreviation means!

And, IMHO, RC doesn't use all that many... Try reading a medical chart.

There is a link to a list of acronyms that is on the left column called Reef Keeping Acronyms. Here is the link for your reference if your left column is turned off.

I'm on several different forums and all of them do this, it's only confusing when they use the same letters but for different terms on different forums.
