TV cable/wiring question

Before I end up doing something I'll regret! Alright, today I sorta got curious about trying to figure out how to connect my laptop to the TV. Mostly out of plain curiosity because there is a port on my lappy I've never used before but also it would come in handy occasionally when we have large groups of people at our house and everybody wants "to see what pictures you've taken lately." I could just plug the lappy in instead of everybody crowding around a 15" screen.

Ok, my lappy has a s-video connection just for connecting to a TV. Problem is nowhere on our TV/DVD-VCR/Directv box is there a single S-video IN port. In fact the only female S-video in the whole system is on the directv box and its an OUT.

Do they make S-video adapters to go from S-video to an A/V jack (or anything besides S-video)? Even searching on Newegg I haven't found anything but I could have missed them somewhere. Or is there someway to wire in a connection for an A/V on the end of a S-video cable? We can wire , but I don't know if there is anyway to make it work.

Only 5-6 years! You mean to tell me modern TV's have more than one plug on the back of them?

Yes they do make S-video to AV. I had to use that setup on my laptop to get the picture up on my truck TX for my GPS.

I got mine at Radio Shack.

I'll have to look there tomorrow I guess. Was there today since I had to get a cable in the first place but didn't look for adapters because I figured my problem would be finding the cable! Not finding somewhere to plug it in!
