!!! PLEASE NEED YOUR ADVICE ..... NANO CUBE 24 Gallons Aquarium !!!!

Hi,

I went to the local aquarium store today, and I saw the NANO CUBE 24 gallon aquarium (http://www.jbjnanocube.com). I absolutely fell in love with the system on how well designed it is!
In about six months, I plan to build a 180 gallons reef tank ( I will use this tank then as a quarantine tank), but in the mean time I just can't stand being in a new house ( Just moved to North Carolina) with out a reef!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can understand because this tank does not have the proper lighting, that I can only have fish and maybe some softies in it.
Does any one have this system ? Any comments (good or bad) on this aquarium system .

IF you have bad experiences with this system or heard of other people having bad lack, any suggestions for a different aquarium system ?

PLEASE ANSWER MY POST !!!

Thanks,

Yiorgo

yup- you can modify the top for lights if you want corals, which is all detailed down in the DIY forum, and the nano forum.

or, if ya don't mind extra daily work... look into seahorses. those tanks are actually really good as is for them.

if its still alive, it will hopefully be fine. If you do not see it, do not try to find it. it may be hiding. just LEAVE it alone

check out www.nanocustoms.com they have the 24 gallon that is modded to help with corals and such.

Where abouts in NC did you move too? We have a very nice state! (if I have to say so myself)

The 24 gallon from what I am hearing have had some problems cracking and leaking. Check out the nano-reefers forum, they could explain

Hi rodgod20,

I just moved 9 months ago to Greensboro, North Carolina with my family after 15 years in Orlando, Florida. Although Orlando is a beautiful town, I start to love North Carolina more and more every day. I know that myself and my family will love this state!
Like I said in my original post, in Orlando I had a 65 gallon reef with a 20 gallon refugium ( I had it for almost two years). This was my first system that I learned all about reefs ( made a lot of mistakes - but also learned a lot of lessons on how to do things better next time). Whithin the next 6 months to a year I plan to build a 180 gallons reef tank. However I couldn't stand it any more to be in a house with out a reef. So for the mean time, I decided to put together a 24 gallons nano cube, and when I fix my 180 gallon tank, then I will use the nano cube as a quarantine tank.

I just ordered my system from www.nanotuners.com (http://nanotuners.nanocustoms.com/nanotuners). Here is what I ordered:

NANO CUBE 24 gallon Marine - 2006 model (thicker glass + improvements)
24 gallon cabinet stand
MODS-
ICA chiller
Moon lights R2
Current USA "Fission" Protein Skimmer
Finnex Titanium Heater - 050w

I also plan to change the pump with a Maxijet 1200 or a mag-drive.

Take care,

Yiorgo
