My New Obsession... 2006 Audi A3

About 2 weeks ago, my wife and I purchased a new Audi A3 2.0T FSI. I have been having so much fun with the car, I haven't had a chance to post here on RC.

If you like sportier cars and are thinking about getting a new car, I would DEFINATELY go test-drive this car.

For more information, check out www.audiusa.com/A3

200 horsepower and 207 torque in a 3200 pound car... it certainly moves.

Actually, it has 10 hp less than a V6 2005 Mustang and the Audi's engine is HALF the size of the Mustangs (2.0 L vs 4.0 L).

Oh yea, I also average about 27 MPG...

Very nice...I see myself getting a similar "stationwagon" in the future. Definately like the AWD combined with the turbo, and with a few mod's they make a very nice sleeper.

Actually, the Quattro isn't available on this car (yet)

I'm happy with the car so far, but we'll see how it does in the winter (FWD). I still have a 4x4 SUV for the "deep snow" days, but if I so desire, this car could be sold in about a year or so and we could purchase the Quattro version when it is available (supposedly around Febuary 2006)

Do you have the DSG? - pretty much the coolest thing about the car.

6.7 0-60 w/ the 6 speed DSG, 6.9 with the manual 6 speed.

Yep, we buy 4 wheel drive SUVs so we can hop the curb at the grocery store.

Sweet Car & Congrats.....

You will not be disappointed with the 2.0T FSI...wait until the aftermarket get a hold of a few of these...I've heard rumors of a Stage 3 A3 already in Colorado, with something like near 300hp. I've been driving Audis forever, I currently drive a 99 A6 w/ a 2.8L V6 30v I purchased it new in Jan 2000, I have about 75k on it know and it's still going strong. I also had a 1990 Audi 90, when i bought it it had 27k on it and I killed it at 235k. These cars if taken car of will live forever.

We have also been thinking of getting an A3, but we age going to wait and see if they are really going to bring the S3 to the US, if so, prolly be our next car.

Congrats and now go join, our regional forum,
http://www.audiworld.com/forum/rockymtn.html

also there is an A3 forum.

Actually, this one was built...it didn't come from the factory that way I talked to the guy for a bit, he already had 1/2 the parts for turboing it, was hoping to have it up to around 400-450hp by the time he was done with it

I've only seen it in pictures. I'll hold final judgement until I see one.

Already joined the A3 forum the day I bought the car. AudiWorld rocks!!! (that's why I've spent so little time here on RC lately)

The first day I saw the 2005.5 A4 (with the new front end) I hated it. It took about a week for it to grow on me and now I love the look.

Actually, the same thing happened with me about 5 years ago when I test drove the (then) new body style A4 (back in 2000 or 2001). I hated the look compared to the older body style but it grew on me.
