Talking Do Pugs cause aqua addiction or vice versa?

Noticed a few fellow reefer/pug owners out there. I am curious as to how many of us there are?

I used to have a pug - but we figured out she was deaf. Being as deaf dogs are near impossible to train - and we have 4 kids and another dog, we decided to donate her to the pug rescue. The new owner of her was accustomed to getting pugs that were very old or had physical problems and has taken her into the group with open arms. Apparently, she rules the roost - as she always did.

Some might say that most pugs are deaf by choice...

Really I have decided that they are all deaf, because laws of odds would mean that at least one would listen, but I have yet to meet that one. That being said, I am sure I will always have at least one, they are addictive.

they aren't deaf, it's just too hard for them to hear over the wheezing, sneezing, and snoring they do!!

I think you may be onto something! I sleep with a snoring SO, and two snoring Pugs every night....and then people can't understand why I can sleep through ANYTHING, training! But I love the sound....it tells me that all my "boys" are happy and sleeping :-)

Great Sig line...and that Pug is quite the handsome boy, if I say so myself! Love his smile...pugs are the only dogs I've have seen that actually smile! I even converted my fiance to loving Pugs, and he was a prior wolf hybrid devotee! :-) But he couldn't resist the boys!

We have a pug too. Her name is Harley and she's going on 2 years old. Honestly, the first time I ever saw a pug was when the Milo & Otis movie came out (early 90's). From the point we saw that movie we just loved them!

We have two dogs: a maltese, Brody (who's 5 ); and Harley, our pug. It's amazing how different their personalities are. Brody is our thinker and basically takes care of Harley. Harley is pug through and through. A big clown! Lazy, begs constantly for food, snores, has gas, but has more personality than any dog we've ever had. When she wants to play with Brody (even if Brody is asleep) she trots up to him and hits him in the head with her paw.. Ironically, this is the same thing she does to us when she wants us to wake up. She's very people oriented and I see her acting like a puppy even when she's ten years old.

This is the most recent pic I have of her online. It's Christmas 2004.

Thanks, I love that sig!

Saltypugs,
Thanks for the compliment, I'll be sure to pass it on the Pugsley. (his appropriate name)

steph:
She looks GREAT for 10years old!!! It's funny how you mention that she taps you to get your attention... mine does the same thing............. and when we don't respond, he walks on our heads to wake us up.

We also have "victory laps" in the morning! Kermit takes off my eye shades, very delicately, then they both march around the bed until we get up...but fortunately they like to sleep in ;-)
They also get up on the diningroom chairs when we eat, and just sit there watching us.....looks like they are taking part in the conversation, its hysterical!
