I thought they were kind of blue myself, at first. After a few hours they burned in nicely. Nice crisp pale blue-white. Running it on an icecap HQI ballast.

Been running my two Phoenix bulbs for almost two years now, still love them.

Oh ya, so do my corals.

Love mine....don't even supplement with actinics..doesn't need it. I am interested in the iwasaki DE aqua2 bulb. If it is anything like the 175 SE bulb...it will have some pretty awesome PAR with nice crisp white/blue color. Haven't seen the 250 yet....just the 175??? Awaiting Sanjay's review.....

The Phoenix has a huge blue peak at 450nm. You really needs actinic to help round out its spectrum.

I like mine and I'm running them without actinics.
