Noisy Koralia

Have any of you experienced a nuissance humming from the Koralia. Mine started a very abnoxious hum a few days ago. I tried cleaning it several times.....no success, its still humming.
I turned it off now, simply too loud.

Any ideas?
Thanks

I have a couple floating around my house, they all seem to be pretty quite in my opinion. No humming that is.

Sounds like you might have an air bubble stuck in it somewhere. That's what was causing mine to hum overly loud.

well, i have placed it in and out of the water and took it apart to clean a few times now.
It almost sounds like a grinding when I listen closely.... I have had it for only 2 month....so i think i will just take it back to LFS for replacement.

mine did it at first til i figured it out...the end piece you put on the end of the fan body...its about an inch long and directs the flow....theres another "web" like piece that goes in it and it was rattling against the fan body...try removing it

No, on the new koralia's they come packaged with a "nose cone" for a more directed flow pattern.

Is the shaft stainless or ceramic? Could be a cracked ceramic shaft.

Check to see if you lost the plastic peice that sits at the bottom of the shaft. I lost mine when cleaning and got a loud hum afterward. If so contact Hydor and they send you some for free.
