I am in the industry here in Australia and I find the elegance here very easy to keep.
I think the trick is medium to lower flow and good feeding with medium lighting and you can't go wrong. |

I have had mine for 5 months and it is doing great. It's on the bottom of a 24 inch deep tank with 5x39w T5's. I feed it at least once sometimes twice a week with cut up bits of krill. The flow is just enough to move the tentacles around a little bit. It is happy.

so far so good the only problem i am having is its in a standard 30 gal with 210 wats of standard and vho lighting now that its settled in its blowing up to about a 10".it was placed dead center of the tank but i had to move it to a corner because it was wanting to shake tenticals with other residents.the color is great id call it a mettalic green w/purple tips and the tentacales are about 3"long.

If it is blown up that could be an indication that it is getting too much light. Can you post a picture?

In my experience, they are very hardy but needs medium flow for it to expand nicely. Here is mine, three years and going strong;

My aussie elegance have been doing great. Got my first one back in April/May 2007 and have gotten several since then. All have stayed very healthy.

My wife bought it at an LFS here in Miami. At first, I was going to return it because I read about the recent short life expectancy on the corals but I decided to give it a shot. I later saw the same coral in DFS website and learned it was an aussie elegance. It is really a beautiful coral and expensive. My wife got it for $30 at the LFS and they go for over $90 at DFS website.
As you can see in the pic, the clowns have also become attached to the elegance.
