Whitest 150watt DE Lamp?

Which 150watt DE lamp shows the whitest color? I don't mind a slight tinge of blue, but no yellow. I also don't want something as blue as the Phoenix 14K.

I heard the Ushio 14K is pretty white?

Thanks for the recommendations, and sorry for another "which bulb" thread =( I feel terrible, hehe.

I like the hamilton 10k, very crisp white with little to no blue...I think its natural looking without being yellow

awesome, do you have any pictures by any chance? Do you supplement with anything?

I'm looking for something very white, or similar to that of a Iwasaki 15K 175watt SE.

If you want to see what a Iwaski 50KK looks like, I'll be getting new bulbs next week and you could have one of my year old ones to have a look at.

thanks for the offers guys =) I don't have a fixture to try them out on yet, just doing some preliminary research on lamps. I always like to get some input while reading about what others have gotten. If I do end up getting a fixture, I'll ping you guys

Also have a spare Astralux 14kk that you can test out if you're interested; already burned in and halfway through its life.

Keep in mind that the lamps can look very different depending on the ballast you are using. I believe electronic will often makes bulbs burn a little bluer then non electronic.

Ive got two helios 20ks coming in soon, Ill give you a report on them when I have them up.

you should also be careful with this request as the more even (clearer spectrum) will reflect more like sunlight and the colors you get will be represented by your aquarium.

If your rocks are purple, and are on the cooler shades then you'd perceive the light as cooler, er..."bluer" or "whiter." If mainly your rocks are yellow or your inhabitants are yellow, your overall look will be yellow and such.

I run a 150w 10k AB (great bulb). At first I thought it was very yellow but several people have commented on how "white" it looks

woah, too wordy for a friday post

but I get your drift.

it's impossible to know the exact color of course, just looking at what people think to help direct me in my research on lamps.

Chris's new lighting at aquatic central seems pretty white to me although hes using xm 20k which normally are blue. Perhaps you can find out what ballast he is using.
