Formulas

I am trying to figure out if there is a formula to figure out how long it would take to fill up a five gallon bucket over a 24 hr period. Any help would be appreciated

Dur Da Durrr

You kinda answered that yourself.

So your trying to figure out how long it takes to fill a 5 gallon bucket over a 24 hour period? I think you should re-word this....if you meant what I think you meant then....

It depends on the incoming flowrate.

5 gallons/ Q= time to fill up bucket, Q=volumetric flow rate, there are too many ways to figure out volumetric flow rate to explain in a curt manner

Yeah sorry I should have read that better. I'm trying to figure out the flow rate and it's in 2 hrs not 24. I'm building a surge device for my tank and the space above the present water line is enough to hold 8 gallons of water before it hits the floor. I have a wave maker (flow controller actually) in the tank but I trying to experiment w/ the surge in the tank as well. I wanted to start with a slower surge time then gradually speed it up if I like the results thus the question on formulas.
