New Controller on the Market?

I recently ran into this website -- www.BiomatixSystems.com .

They have some basic product information on their controller and accessories -- seems pretty intersting but there are NO threads on this product on ReefCentral.

Does anyone here have any thoughts?

Yeah I have no idea. From the looks of it, I'm guessing it is more than I would ever want to spend...

I tried emailing the contact listed on their website but the email bounced back.. I wonder if this company is for real...

It would be so much nicer if I could see a real picture! It almost looks like concept art. As moonpod said they are very early on in this development, but I am pretty sure it is a real company, the phone number works but it's redirected to voice mail. BTW I cannot find a single mention of this product or company in google.

I called them this morning and tried to talk to a guy named Chris. It went to his voicemail and so far no return call back. I am curious about the controller as well.

I also told the receptionist to report the link is not working for their email. I doubt she'll do it!

Well I talked to Chris @ Biomatix systems and he gave me the scoop on the product. It sounds great! The standard unit comes with the controller, pH probe, temperature probe, salinity probe and a 8 channel power adapter. Price for that he said is going to be 800.00. The controller has a built in web server as well as email server. If you have multiple controllers they are meant to talk to each other as well as you can control multiple controllers from one location via web browser. They have some controllers out in the field being beta tested currently but they are not available to the general public, quite yet. He said probably 6 - 8 weeks.

Not that I've seen - only what's on the website.

He said the website would be updated in a few days to include more information.

Got this email this morning from Biomatix

Thank you for your interest in the Biomatix Systems eAquatix Controller. We are currently only shipping units to our partner companies who provide professional aquatic services. However, supply permitting; we will begin a retail sales campaign through our nationwide distributors in a few short weeks. At that time the product will be available to the general public at an average retail price of $800. The basic system includes an eAquatix controller with all the functions and capabilities described on the website, a temperature probe, a salinity probe, and one 8-channel AC power module.

Again, thank you for your interest and we will be in touch as we draw closer to the public release date.

Regards,

Biomatix Systems

In programmer speak, that might mean 6 to 8 months!

Small companies consistently underestimate the time and effort required to productize technology. Let's hope they can rise to the occasion.

well just to bring this thread up to speed...
I think realistically the company plans on having the controller ready for offical release to the general public at MACNA (Sept-ish), if it happens before then -great.

The controller does exist and looks exactly like what you see in the picture.

If you talk to them again, ask if they can put some real pictures up.
