Nikon 55-200mm.

I have read some good reviews on this lens. Would it be good for full tank shots, moving fish shots and corals? The only downside that I read about is that is has slow auto focus. And is the VR version really worth the extra $65? I will be using it for my tank and on a tripod so it really isn't worth the extrad cash is it?
Here is the lens. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...kenrockwellcom

thanks

Well I dont know about the lens since i'm a cannon guy, but IMO, VR/IS is defiantly worth it anytime you take handheld shots.

I am a nikon person in addition to camera store manager and 16 year photographer.
ANY nikon lens is worth the money as nikon glass is the very best. I think all the hoopla created about VR lenses is unneccessary and is just a status symbol among those using cameras as jewelry these days, but if you got money to burn, go for it!

I recieved the lense today but immediatley sent it back as I decided to pay up for the 70-300 VR as I heard and read some ver good things about it. That one comes tomorrow - I'll post pics as I learn about it.
