do you have a sams club nearby. If so print off the online ad and take it to bestbuy within 14 days of purchase and have them price match. I didn't read the whole thread. Or just take it back and buy it from sams club. http://www.samsclub.com/shopping/nav...680&pCatg=5753

My girlfriend has an XTi and I have a 30D. I love my 30D. Of course I put a battery grip on her XTi and pimped it out. Its a little better.

I agree that you should keep the 30D simply because you wanted it to take sports photos as well. The XTi doesn't have the high speed shooting capability as the 30D... I have a 30D as well and just set up a 120 reef tank. My friends wanted me to get the 155 bowfront but I couldn't stand the photos I had taken on the aquapod, with that freaking bowfront. Anyway I am now noticing how horrible my all-glass aquarium is with taking photo's at any angle other than flat on the glass... Here's the gig with the 60mm macro... I hope your tank isn't too large or the things you want to take a photo of are close to the glass... You don't have any choice with the distance if you want a true macro photo. You have to be exactly .2meters from your subject to get 1:1... So I would suggest the 100mm macro however... That lens has only a 12" focusing distance at 1:1... So I guess the question is, what is the maximum depth of the tank you would be working with!?!?! I personally wanted to buy the 180mm macro which allows you to be 1.6' away from your subject for a true macro shot. I hope I have added some helpful threads. If you can afford it I would also suggest you go for an image stabalized lens for the sports photography you were talking about. IS rocks...
Todd PS I love my 30D. |

It is good for taking hand held shots but if you have the camera on a tripod I would turn off the IS function as it is recommend. Image Stabilizer
