Well, don't know why I'm having problems posting this pic, so I'll use this for now.

Bronco, is that yours?

It really looks awesome. Probably more awesome looking in my tank. :-)

Hey how is that Cirrhilabrus punctatus doing? I still want one.

Kip

Kip,

Yes that Pink Margin is mine. The Punctatus is doing great. The mystery wrasse was messing with him at the begining because he's on the small side but eventually he got the nerve up to stand up to him and they been getting along ever since.

Some LFS's and/or suppliers will call pink margins....red margins.

Quite honestly, I believe that calling them red margin makes more sense because that's the one unmistakeable feature of the fish....a bright red margin on the tip of the tail.

However, the scientist that discovered the fish (Randall) and various wrasse experts like Scott W. Michael and Rudie Kuiter have all named the fish Pink margin and that's what I go by............what the experts say.

If it makes it any better, just call them rubrimarginatus fairies. The scientific name is always unmistakeable.

Common names are always missleading....heck look at all the confusing surrounding "christmas wrasses".

Bronco777 how long did it take for him to develope the green hue yours hase?
I ask because I have one I would estimate is 4" or so and is as pink as can be, with the beautiful pink/red margins, but not a hint of green to him.
Yet
He is in a 58 with a Solarinsis male about 1/2 his size, maroon clown, Bluespot watchman, and Yellow Choris wrasse.
Thanks

Thurge,

Quite honestly I bought him like that. He didn't develop those colors in my tank. He's a pretty big boy. Very mature.
