If you go with the Profilux, you won't have any issues, it's a great controller. I'll be putting it on my new 60g cube.

Yes I have done allot of research and I think the Profilux is the best controller out there at the moment.
I really like the EX models

The new high line Profilux is an EX.... The EX version comes with most the ports installed so you dont have to use your expansion slots for the Conductivity and Redux

I'm guessing this'll cost you a small fortune. I'll just enjoy it vicariously.

This is the wall behind the tank were I mount all the lights etc..
I am working on the new light wiring. I got the ballast mounted but am waiting on some new connectors. I am going to use quick connectors for everything that is mounted in the Canopy. This makes it easy to take the canopy off if needed without worrying about pulling wires.

The Controller and all electrical will be mounted on this wall also. This will keep all my electrical from being under the tank

Aaron could you post some info on the Hofer Gurgle Buster ? Did a search but the link to his page is not working. A.G.E makes so sweet tanks, they're gonna make my next one if that ever happens.

I have a 2000 323i with 5-speed manual transmission which had a "rear clunk" from the first day. I am curious to see if many 5-speed manual E46s have a similar problem. Let me explain the problem (by the way this is an intermittent problem, ie., it does not happen all the time; but occurs may be 70 to 80 % of the time): when I shift gears and let the clutch go, I hear a clunk or thud or "thunk" from the rear (probably from somewhere in the vicinity of rear axle). If I release the clutch quickly, the sound is loud. If I release the clutch very slowly (slipping the clutch), I still hear the clunk.

I do not know if this is related or not but when the car is stationary and I shift gears, I hear some clicking noises from the rear (I think the sound comes from the same area).

My final question is I have a (clicking, chattering) driver's seat belt tensioner and had the tensioner replaced. Does the replacement of the tensioner solve the problem or the new tensioner is noisy like the original one?

I asked BMWNA about these problems (bmwusa.com Owner's Circle) about ten days ago. Even though they claim that they respond in one day, I have not heard from them yet.

Thank you in advance for your response.

Just Kidding! Absolutely fabulous tank. Next Austin tank tour will have to include your tank. As well the first one should have. I like the mounting solution for the halides and it will let you get the T5s close to the water.

Did you consider the Aquatronic controllers? The wireless capabilities of the EX is awesome! Looking in your direction reefkeeper.

James,
Im sorry to hear about your 2000 MY E46 problems, Let me assure you that I will work with you and do whatever it takes to get these problems resolved as quickly as possible.

Oh and BTW... I was the first tank on the tank tour. You just were not there.

I have seen the Aquqtronic controller but think the Profilux is still a superior controller. It has allot more lighting options and you just can not beat the lightning effects!

Headless_Donkey, I checked with the Ford Motors Group, and they said to remove the corpse from your trunk. That will alleviate the sounds that you've been hearing as you shift into gear or stop suddenly.
