MR-1 Mod

Hi,

I posted this in another thread with no luck so I'm sure that maybe someone here can help.

I can't use the search function so I thought I would ask because I went through a few pages and nothing.

I would like to know if there's any mods for the MR-1 if so can someone point me in the right area or links please.

thx in advance.

Unless you're a "premium" member, I think it is pretty hard to get the search function to work. Sorry.
I tried searching for you're MR-1, but no luck.
Good luck finding what you need.

You may be able to add a riser, but you'd have to get that from MRC. While on the phone, ask them!! I asked what upgrades for my old MR-2. They suggested dual Beckett's and a riser.

What pump are you using with your MR-1?? Hope it's not a submersible. If so, get an external head pump.

Yea I called them and they told me the same thing only a riser but thats just to hold more bio load. As far as pump I purchase this brand new from a fellow reefer and it came with a T3 and I purchase the T4 from him just in case and there external.

Someone told me there's a mod for the Beckett and told me to search for (Beckett Mod) but I'm not a paid member so the search don't work for me.

At least people with the MR-2 and MR-3 have more options, MR-2 with riser becomes a MR-3, It's a shame they didn't make the MR-1 with these type of options.

First off, you get to use the search function after you make 50 or more posts (don't quote me on that number, but it's something like that). The idea is that you are a contributor as well as a user. Get 50 posts and you can start searching. Ask some more questions.

The MR-1 has a smaller box than the MR-2 and 3. It wasn't designed to handle much over 175g. Personally, I wouldn't run it on anything over a 120g. You want to mod it means that it's not doing what you want it to. What size tank are you running this MR-1 on??

So your tank isn't running yet?? How do you know if it won't be enough?? If you are worried, why not look at another skimmer?? Do you have access to most things being in Puerto Rico??

I just move out here from NY and tbh there's not much resources here that's why I join here to read, read and more reading and to learn from you guys, I don't want to jump the gun and build this up until I'm sure that I'm doing thing right to start with. But I heard of the Extreme Octopus talk about a lot here so waiting for it to be released and tested before I think about another skimmer purchase.
