euroreef skimmer ?

I've had my euroreef for almost a year now just to discover that I haven't been using it to its potential. I just messed with the arm height adjustment to notice the skimmer goes crazy and the cannister fills almost immediately. Instead of continually emptying the cannister I put 4 small tubes inside the cannister and am siphoning the water out. I've since emptyed almost 25 gallons. How do I adjust it to make it work at its top potential without having to keep putting water in?

So your skimmer is dumping clear water into the cup in which you have holes drilled in?

You want dark skimmate not water overflowing into the cup.

Sorry if I'm misunderstanding.

[welcome]

I think you had it closer to what it should be before you adjusted it. The cup should only need to be emptied once or twice a week depending on...many things.

It should run something like this:

The arm adjusts the water level in your skimmer. The way your are running it not, is worthless. You need to adjust the water level just below the collection cup.
