Thanks, that wrasse loves to show off for the camera -- the blue on his belly is more whenever I have the camera out.
LOL Even when with the old sand bed my nitrates were never above 5, for some reason I've never had an issue with them in any of my tanks.

Nope, took it all out. I used to have a crushed coral sand bed, had to of been at least 7 years old. It was pretty nasty, but considering how old it was it wasn't all that bad.

your tanks looks great.
can I ask, from what I take it, it took a month to cure the LR from F&S? how did you do it, just heater and powerheads, and time? waterchanges?

Yea, about a month sounds right (( could have been 5 weeks )) I had a heater in the bin, a powerhead and an old CPR HOB skimmer. I did weekly water changes on it ( 5 gal. at a time ). For the water changes I just used the "old" water from my other tanks when I did water changes on them.

what are you using for a sandbed now? real sand? I'm looking for something that will last and last and last without breaking down or harboring cyno.

Seaflor Special Grade Reef Sand, about 45 lbs worth (( or 55 lbs, can't remember, I know I bought a smaller and large bag. ))
http://www.drsfostersmith.com/produc...26&pcatid=7326 Same stuff that I have used in my other tanks.
